In 1999, Pantone named its first color of the year and has continued that trend annually since. To make their selection, the color experts at the Pantone Color Institute scour the world looking for new color inspirations in areas of design, popular travel destinations, and socio-economic conditions. The Pantone Color Institute calls Cloud Dancer a “lofty white neutral whose aerated presence acts as a whisper of calm and peace in a noisy world” and adds that the color is “a living calm that invites renewal, vision in serenity and creative release.” Cloud Dancer is already featured in fashion and will doubtless appear in numerous other industries, including beauty and hair, packaging, and footwear throughout the year.
