Tilting or Lifting Window Treatments

Are You a Tilter or Lifter?

At Treasure Coast Window Fashions serving Jupiter, we know that each customer is unique. That’s why we work hard to find the perfect solution—because no two systems and choices will be exactly the same. For example, different people prefer different types of functionality for their window treatments—especially when it comes to tilting versus lifting. Do you know which is right for you?

Lifters

Shades are in the “lifters” category because they raise or lower to provide natural light, view-through, or privacy. Shades come in the largest color palette available in of all the window treatment categories and in the full range of opacities, from light-filtering to blackout. Shade selections include honeycomb or cellular shades (such as Duette® honeycomb shades), roman shades (such as Vignette® Modern Roman Shades), woven wood shades (such as Provenance® Woven Woods), and roller or screen shades (such as designer banded shades).

Tilters

Blinds are in the “tilters” category—although they can be lifted, for the most part, users adjust only the slats to achieve the right amount of light and privacy. Blinds add a level of interest at the window and come in aluminum, wood, and vinyl, as well as a variety of paint stains and slat sizes. Blind selections include wood (such as Parkland® wood blinds), faux wood (such as EverWood® blinds), and aluminum blinds (such as Modern Precious Metals® blinds).

Another Kind of Tilter

Shutters are a different animal but are considered “tilters” too. The louvers can be tilted open or closed, and the panels can swing open for full view-through. But mostly shutters are considered fine furniture for your windows and add value to your home (such as Heritance® hardwood shutters). They are available in wood, faux wood and vinyl materials in a variety of paints, stains, and louver sizes.
